Pfalz
Crisp and dry with a beautiful balance of fruit and acidity, this Riesling has convinced more than a few skeptics of the variety to embrace it. It's made in the Pfalz region, in southwestern Germany, by A. Christmann, a legendary estate that has been making wine here since the late 16th century. The Christmann family owns portions of some of the great sites in the Pfalz and practices biodynamic viticulture.
The Riesling Trocken was produced from the first pickings of several classified sites—the Gimmeldingen, Deidesheim, and Ruppertsberg vineyards. The aromas on this wine are high-toned, with grapefruit, lemon peel, green pear, and mineral notes. It's lithe on the palate, with a long finish.
